Here at Venmores Liverpool, baking cakes and helping people are two of our favourite things to do (along with selling houses, of course!) so when we heard about Stand Up To Cancer's Bake Off, we knew it was something that we had to get involved in.
Led by our lovely Sales Negotiator, Carolyn, our team organised a Bake Sale which meant an evening of getting creative in the kitchen to bring the best cakes to the table! Our talented team clearly has many strings to its bow as we served an array of cakes from Victoria Sponges, Rice Crispy Cakes, Red Velvet Cakes and lots of Cupcakes all beautifully decorated. Our team's amazing effort meant that we were able to raise an amazing £300.70 for Stand Up To Cancer.
Our donation enables seven patients to have cancer biopsies, where a tiny amount of tumour is removed to be studied in a lab. This helps to diagnose patients early, greatly increasing the chances of successful treatment. According to Stand Up To Cancer in 1970, just 1 in 4 people survived the disease but with your help and support, 3 in 4 will survive by 2034.
Donations help to provide the funds that go towards researching methods of identifying and combatting cancer cells. 1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime and by helping to fund research now, you are helping to pave the way for future treatments which may just be what saves the lives of your friends, family or even yourself in the event of a diagnosis.
We are very proud of our team for helping to bake some delicious cakes and raise money to help fight this awful disease which affects the lives of many. We would like to say 'thank you' to everyone who visited the branch to buy our cakes, helping to raise vital funds for patients. A huge 'thank you' to our team (especially Carolyn for organising such a wonderful event!) for baking up treats and fundraising for such a worthy cause.
